MURALS ARTIST TURNS TO LEYLAND TRADE TO ENSURE DURABILITY

Walworth School, a maintained school that provides specialist day and residential education for young children in County Durham, has benefitted from an internal and external transformation.

The work was carried out by artist, Lee Ferry, who is known for his ability to create vibrant murals on both the internal and external walls of a building.

Lee explained: “The mural work I do is usually in areas used by members of the public or exposed to all kinds of weather conditions, so finding a durable paint is key when I’m choosing products. I’ve carried out a few projects at Walworth School over the past year and used Leyland Trade paints every time.”

To keep his work looking smarter for longer, Lee chose Leyland Trade’s Hardwearing Matt. The paint is formulated to be both washable and scrubbable with stain and moisture resisting properties, making it ideal for high traffic areas. Hardwearing Matt is also low odour and fast drying, meaning Lee could apply the paint with minimal disruption to students.

“I use Leyland Trade because of the covering power of the paint,” Lee concluded. “I can get the products mixed to any colour I need, which is ideal for creating murals. I used Smooth Masonry on the exterior walls at the school, so the mural will stay protected against the weather.”
